How Camp Invention Offers More Flexibility Than Ever Before

Camp Invention^®, the flagship invention education program from the National Inventors Hall of Fame^® (NIHF), has brought fun and exciting summers to children all over the country for more than 30 years. To make our K-6 summer camp even more accessible for families across communities and learning styles, we’ve designed our all-new 2021 program to be our most flexible one yet.

There are many different ways for children to join in all the fun, learning and hands-on discovery this summer. Read on to decide what’s right for you and your young innovator.

Choose an In-Person or At-Home Experience

This summer, we’re making it possible for campers to join Camp Invention in either a traditional, in-person or virtual, at-home format. Both formats deliver the same hands-on, imagination-stretching activities that encourage creative problem solving and outdoor exploration.

Even if you’re not sure which format will be right for you this summer, you can still sign up right now. With our new Peace of Mind Promise, you can register your camper today and switch your format choice up to six weeks before your program start date.

Joining Us From Home? How You Camp Is Up to You!

If our at-home camp experience works best for your family, you’ll find you have plenty of options for how you might approach this experience.

Your child will receive an Innovator’s Toolkit, packed with all the materials they need, including Innovator Workshop materials designed for them to create their very own makerspace. Through the five-day program, your camper will have the opportunity to join four collaboration sessions per day, where they can interact with their certified educator Coach and fellow campers. These session are recommended but not required – so campers can join all, some or none of them — and your child will have the freedom to change things up from one day to the next.

Another option is to approach our at-home camp as a chance for family fun, letting your child lead and set the pace as your whole family solves problems, builds and invents together. With access to exclusive digital resources including fun instructional videos, your family can enjoy an immersive and inspiring experience that empowers your child and creates lasting memories for each of you.

A screen-free and self-paced experience is yet another option for at-home campers this summer. For children who can work independently, our step-by-step Inventor Logs will show them how to take on each challenge.
