Giving Tuesday is a global movement celebrating acts of generosity — and it’s a great time to support the causes you care about. When selecting organizations to support this season, keep in mind that nonprofit organizations’ goals can only be achieved with help from donors like you.
At the National Inventors Hall of Fame®, we rely on philanthropic support from foundations, corporations and individuals to fuel our mission to recognize inventors, promote creativity, and advance the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship. Read on to learn how you can make a lasting impact when you donate to our innovative nonprofit.
Connect Generations of Innovators
The annual National Inventors Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony honors legendary inventors whose work has changed our world, advanced our society and improved our lives. By directing your gift to our Induction Ceremony, you help us recognize these visionaries whose insights, lessons and encouragement will directly influence our competitions and education programs, inspiring the next generation of inventors.
You might also choose to direct your gift to the Collegiate Inventors Competition® (CIC). CIC is an annual competition encouraging innovation, entrepreneurship and creativity among university students. As CIC Finalists present their cutting-edge inventions, they receive feedback from National Inventors Hall of Fame Inductees and United States Patent and Trademark Office officials who serve as Judges. Winners bring home both cash prizes and opportunities to accelerate the patent process. Your gift to CIC encourages bright young minds to continue producing solutions to real-world problems.
Give Children Access to K-12 Invention Education Programs
The National Inventors Hall of Fame mission reaches even the youngest innovators. Our nonprofit has developed and delivered inspiring invention education programs like Camp Invention® and Invention Project® for more than 30 years. Thanks to our donors’ generosity, over 25,000 children in the past year have received scholarships to help them experience our education programs.
You can help us reach children across the country with equitable access to hands-on, confidence-building experiences when you fund scholarships to Camp Invention, our flagship K-6 STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) summer camp.
Your contribution will provide scholarships to families with financial need, empowering children who are often underrepresented in STEM fields and leading them on a path toward innovative career opportunities through creative learning experiences inspired by real inventors.
Take a look at what families are saying about the difference a Camp Invention scholarship can make:
“I have three older kids, all with very different personalities, and they all absolutely loved Camp Invention! They loved the creative activities, the hands-on learning, the opportunity to be in person with kids from around our local area, and they absolutely love learning anything science-related. Thank you so much for a wonderful, creative and inventive camp. The discount we were able to receive via scholarships is the only way we were able to afford sending all three kids, and we are so very grateful for it. We hope to continue attending camp as long as my kids are able to!”
— Addie and Kyle F., Cody, WY
“This camp helped my child tremendously with self-esteem, the desire to learn, and a newfound love for science and how things work! Without the scholarship, he would not have been able to attend, and I am extremely grateful he was awarded one! He learned so much and has continued to do experiments, explore and ask questions pertaining to science. He can't wait until next year!
— Aimee K., Old Fort, NC
“My 6-year-old daughter showed little interest in STEM activities before attending Camp Invention. This camp was important to me because at the very least, I wanted her to have additional exposure to engaging STEM activities. Our world is infiltrated with so many career opportunities surrounding STEM, and I want my daughter to have the ability to pursue whatever path she dreams of. She now has such a drive to create, invent and problem solve. I'm grateful for this camp and the grant that funded her attendance.”
— Amber H., Evans, CO
“My son has been recently diagnosed with ADHD and anxiety disorder. It is hard for us to find activities for him to do that exercise his creativity and help rein in his hyperactivity. It was wonderful to have a program where he was able to express his imagination, his deep thinking on inventing, and be around peers with similar interests. We were able to get a scholarship, which enabled us to send him, and I am so very grateful.”
— Rachel B., Hillsboro, OR
To contribute to the ongoing development of our development of invention education programs, you also can choose to direct your gift to the National Inventors Hall of Fame Annual Fund. Your gift will enable new curriculum development and provide hands-on materials, literacy tools, language translations and accessibility options for our programs in communities nationwide.
No matter how you direct your gift, your contribution to National Inventors Hall of Fame education programs will help children engage in STEM exploration and learn to see themselves as capable inventors, creative problem solvers and innovative thinkers.
